Birdman & Butterfly
I took the bike down to Välsta yesterday. Closing in on the old tree I ran into my friend Bird Man. We decided to park the bikes and go for a walk in the rural landscape. A few tractors were out on the fields, and the farmers where busy wrapping hay bales in plastic film. We walked over to one of the blooming canola fields at the Nödesta farm. Bird Man figured he could use some portraits for his Facebook site so I grabbed the camera and started shooting. The butterfly is a Small Tortoiseshell.

These are great Steffe!
Lovely portrait, but canola PLUS digarette smoke would do my lungs totally in!!
Hard to believe that in a few short months all this will be white again ...
The weather looks fantastic. Canola is always good for a photo, with all that colour!
une belle rencontre tout les deux, bravo
i bet birdman was pleased with this portrait.
So that's what Birdman really looks like haha! what a lovely walk you had Steffe, great pictures and I don't know how I missed your 'punky' little VW from yesterday, fantastic spotting!!
nice photo! and i like your story with it... :)
A very nice portrait of Bird Man, Steffe.
That's just a fabulous image - Everyman stunned by the sun. I didn't think that cigarettes were affordable for most people in Sweden these days.
Smell the Canola was a title I was toying with for this post. Thanks for bringing up the thought of Winter Julie!
It's been warmer than usual lately. I suffered a heat stroke a couple of days ago after a photo shoot outside a hospital of all places.
I sure hope so brattcat. I mailed him four or five shots last night.
At least this Birdman!
The economy in Sweden has been in full flow for five years or so Bob.
I love your portrait. He looks like he's drinking the summer air in. Wonderful!
I love the contrast between the two pics: strength and fragility.
2 great shots! Somehow I pictured Birdman as being blonder.
Great shots.
Love his expression, the guy is a force!
Great portrait and setting. What camera do you use, Steffe? I tried to look at the EXIF data on Flickr, but couldn't see it.
I normally shoot with my old Canon 300. I have used it since 2004. The 18-35mm lens isn't working any more, so for the moment I'm shooting with the zoom lens.
Stunning clarity in your pics.
