Enjoying the Sunshine

Enjoying the Sunshine

After the cold and dark winter, people in this country will take every opportunity to get a few relaxing minutes in the spring sunshine. This is Michelle. From Huddinge, a neighbouring municipality to Haninge. I spotted her resting on the bench at the commuter station in Västerhaninge a few days ago, and figured it would make for a good photo. Michelle is a former student at the Berga Agricultural College here in Haninge, where she attended the horse programme. And as you can probably tell from her clothes, that's the line of work she is in now. She works at two different stables, one of them at Stav in Tungelsta. As everyone else she enjoys photography, and we talked about the weird fact that if you forget to bring your camera to an event or place these days, half the fun is gone! When she's not occupied with the horses, Michelle enjoys jogging and indoor climbing, just like Stina that I met last week. Thanks for the chat Michelle. Oh, and if you think that there's something familiar to this view, it's because this is the same bench where I met Petronella & Bettina.

I assume you are aware of it but in case you are not, I will say that you are developing a "style" with these photographs and your work will be quickly noticed. I am guessing that you will earn some money from your work in the near future. These are excellent photographs and without a doubt some of the best casual portraits I have ever seen. I have seen one website, a long time ago, which had photographs of local people dressed in what appears to be weird clothes but the styles the normal (not models) people were wearing were quickly copied by local teenagers and young adults. Your work would fit that site perfectly. You are very talented. Tell the girls that Abraham Lincoln, from Brookville, Ohio said, "Hello."

Where I try to make inspirational photographs. Not always successful. Gobsmacks

This young lady is certainly enjoying her day! Nice shot!

The lady looks really happy enjoying the sun.

But it won't happen here in Asia, people here avoid the sun whenever they can! LOL... (think we got too much sun!)

Another excellent portrait...seems like a well-rounded young lady.

This time I have to say that the background is much worth of this photo as the subject, and not to disparage the young lady.

By the way, what is the name of the ship you mentioned?

Thanks for all those fine words Abe. Really appreciate it. I will say hello from you when I see her again!

Vogon Poet: It is called the S/V Ariel. I have a photo of the ship in a post from last summer.

Boy, if I ever get to your area, I'm going to hang out around that bench. Well done.

This series of photos of interesting people out on the street in Haninge is truly excellent. The basic idea is a winner, but it is made better by being so well executed: each person is captured really well.
