The Flower Shop Girl
This is Danuta. Together with Ingemar she owns and runs the plant nursery Blomorado in Tungelsta. Their store is open seven days a week. So if you live in the area, and are looking to buy some yellow, gold, orange, purple, violet, red, white, or even black spring flowers, this is the place for you. They also sell fruit trees and anything else you may need for your garden. During my visit today they were very busy. Not surprisingly as it looks like spring has finally arrived, and everyone is looking to buy flowers. Today is Theme Day at City Daily Photo and the theme is Yellow. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants. Oh, and if you wanna see more Blomorado photos I have a set with 144 photos!

Lovely choice for today. I so love that we meet Danuta and know the story behind the plant nursery. Those pansies are gorgeous.
Wonderful photo for theme day. You combined your people pictures with this month's theme!
I can tell you that story Jilly. The plant nursery goes back 101 years. In 1908 a few years after the railway line was built, my great grandfather and his wife arrived to Tungelsta. They bought the land now known as Bergdalen. And for four generations my family owned and operated the plant nursery. A few years ago we sold the place to Ingemar and Danuta.
Do you know if she is from Poland? Danuta is a typical Polish name, my mother's name is Danuta:)
Yes she is. Danuta came to Sweden with her mother Halina in the 1970ths. They are ancestors to the Songin family.
Great theme day photo! I can believe how busy these ladies are...we went to the local Lowe's (our home supply store) and people were coming out of the cracks...crazy!
Wonderful family history and great shot!
Very nice Theme Day post!
I like very much that face photos/presentations of yours!
Great shot! I do love flowers though. Wonderful history
Great that you combined your gift for great portraiture with the theme day.

Hi Steffe, yellow flowers were my choice for today too - simply beautiful. Thanks for visiting me in San Diego recently. I see you have been meeting lots of nice women (and men) through your blog - it takes courage to photograph people that you don't know and makes for a nice story.
She looks like someone who enjoys being around such natural beauty.
Wonderful story, family history and post for theme day.
Wow. What a history, Steffe. Thanks for comment on Nelson as well.
The portrait project is all thanks to a Finnish journalist. His name is Teppo and he started the 100 Strangers Project. As I normally have a hard time talking to people I decided to join the project as I thought it would help me. And now I can't stop!
Here is Teppo's Strangers. And here is the flickr group if you feel like joining.
These pansies are beautiful. Guess you love flowers too!
Wow, the nursery is over 100 years! What a nice story. And it's great that you joined the 100 Strangers Project. It's not an easy task to convince strangers to allow you to capture their photos. I find that tough and I am working on that too as I love to take portraits.
I have posted yellow orchids for Theme Day. You are welcome to visit my blog.
That is cool story, thanks for sharing your family story.I really inspired of your plant nursery.

Well, I also love flowers and I can say that she has a healthy flower shop. Wish I can also have that kind of flower shop. Anyway, I enjoyed reading your post. It makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing!
