The New and the Old

The old Shack

A little over a year ago I had the opportunity to have a look inside a scary old building here in Tungelsta.I first showed you the old shack back in December 2008. In January last year we had a few looks inside. Since then the new owners have set up a new house on the property, but surprisingly the woebegone old shack is still there today.

I remember very well the inside photo of the old shack, and expressed curiosity about the owners because of the library of books. Still wonder about them. The new house is really very nice: trim and neat, very much like all the houses you show us. Perhaps they're going to keep the old place as a "casita" ... makes one wonder, tho, because it is so close to the new house.

I really like the clean, new house and its simple style! I clicked on your link to the previous indoor photos of that spooky house - yikes! Maybe the new owners are keeping it there with the hopes that its ghosts will frighten away any would-be burglars?

It would be a lot of work to tear down the old house. But it would also be a lot of work to fix it up into something useable.

Maybe you will find out what they have planned for the old shack and it will make a good blog picture! It looks pretty in the snow.

There are more photos in the flickr set with some more info. The old building was left as it is during construction of the new house, so I'm guessing they will tear it down as soon as the new house is finished. It couldn't be save mostly because of all the cigar smoking over the years. For the slideshow press here.
