Out Skiing

Out Skiing

As we live up North it really isn't that surprising that many people in this country enjoy Nordic Skiing. On my winter promenade the other day when I visited the old tree and took that fun photo of Furda I also saw a few skiers. I caught up with this couple as they crossed the Stabergs Road. They had lost track of time in the beautiful skiing weather. Now they were heading back towards Västerhaninge. I had previously spotted them on a field at Välsta, near the old tree, but I am yet to photograph a skier at the tree. This is perhaps not the best photo I have ever taken, but I blame that on my cold hands at the time!

It's good enough to inspire me to resurrect my old skiis, go out to buy new boots and poles (the old ones have been recycled), and take to the trails!

Lasse and Gerd seem to be having a wonderful time out in the snow! I want to go skiing, too! Weren't there any snow babes out there??

Look, she had warmed up enough to tie her coat around her waist. That hasn't happened to me yet this winter.

I did actually meet a snow babe today at Lake Rudan, but she was too camera shy so tomorrow you will have to do with a portrait of a ski dude.

Are they doing some cross-country skiing or downhill? Either way, I am exhausted just looking at them!

I think you're lucky you were even able to punch the shutter!

Although it does look like a nice day for skiing. But the bright sun can burn your skin pretty fast if you're not careful.

I think it's wonderful that they get out there and enjoy the skiing together. Good for them!

No need to be careful in the Swedish winter sun. At least not in January. These skier are tough because they will have to make their own ski tracks.

We have a long Nordic ski trail that is groomed daily right outside our door. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like quite a workout!
