The Commuter

The Commuter

Another cold night. Followed by an equally cold day. My brother left for Cyprus in the early hours of this morning. It's a little warmer down there. He sometimes complain that the ten minute walk between his office and apartment will make him sweat, poor guy. Because of the very low temperatures, a few not very clever people, have upped their indoor heating so much so that we had a few power out's during the night. Not in Tungelsta, but out on a few of the big islands here in Haninge. That can't have been a very comfy night. Anyway, today's photo shows the X60 commuter at the Tungelsta commuter station. It was - 15 Celsius as I shot this, so it's quite understandable that local boy Per Johnsson is trying his best to get the commuter door to open and let him in. The train will take him to Västerhaninge in five minutes. From there there's a thirty minute commute to Stockholm.

dire que dans la region parisienne, un peu de neige et les bus et trains ne marchent plus ;(. Impressionnante photo, que j'aimerais avoir autant de neiges à Evry

Yup, it is cold, but we live in and endure these temperatures are hearty folks! The train is very sleek, and apparently very fast!

I hope both commuters were able to get in. I wouldn't want to stand out there in the cold for too long! Brrrrr.

Looks like quite a modern, quick train! Valkommen abord! I think Minnesota is colder than Haninge!

Brrr... it's been getting down to -9c here at night. That's really cold for the south!! I don't think I could handle -15c in the day. Stay warm!!!

It was -38 Celsius up north.

I'm guessing it took some effort to come up with that comment Allison :-)

It astounds me that anyone can get anywhere with so much snow - indeed that trains even run. Love the shot.

Saw that movie over Christmas, the Polar Express. Somehow, your picture reminds me of it. Wonder why.

Thought this is a very well-balanced shot. Nice look and feel.
Incidentally here in Adelaide South Australia, it's going to be 39C today, then 41, 41, 41
Even warm for us. But lovely

Ans sometimes the trains runs on time!

Haven't seen that movie.

41 is a bit hot. I remember a visit to Corfu when it was 42C. A little too warm as I remember it.

It's a nice train.
