I met this snake yesterday on a path at the nature reserve in Jordbro. It's a venomous viper and they often enjoy the sunshine here. Same path, last year. Bigger snake.

The snake has some pretty colors on its face. I don't much like snakes but tolerate them.
I use to see Black Snakes in Virginia, but around here it is Rattle Snakes.
How close did you get?
I was crouching a few meters away and took a few quick snaps, I then decided to move in more closely but that scared it away.
