There's a dead tree trunk next to the cellar door here at Bergdalen. It is the home of a few hundred Firebugs. They are a good indication of the arrival of Spring. This year they sent out this little guy to see if it was time to come out. He reported back that it was. Oh, and this shot was pretty enough to make it to my morning paper where it was published yesterday as a sign of spring!

Everyone is talking about spring all of a sudden, including several members much farther north than here. This is a great picture. It inspires me to go look for spring myself.

Spring is late here, it is still raining now...
