Need Snow?

Need Snow? Red Volvo
Do you need some snow? Don't have enough of the white stuff for Christmas this year? If so, buy one of these. A snow gun from TechnoAlpin. Yours for only 450 000 SEK. The local ski club Jordbänningen decided that they needed two (2), snow machines. I was hoping to see it action yesterday at the Rudan nature reserve, but it was covered with blue tarp, probably because it was one degree too warm for the machine. I stuck around for a while hoping to get a few good snaps of the skiers but there was only two people there and you can see one of them here.

Out Skiing

Out Skiing

As we live up North it really isn't that surprising that many people in this country enjoy Nordic Skiing. On my winter promenade the other day when I visited the old tree and took that fun photo of Furda I also saw a few skiers. I caught up with this couple as they crossed the Stabergs Road. They had lost track of time in the beautiful skiing weather. Now they were heading back towards Västerhaninge. I had previously spotted them on a field at Välsta, near the old tree, but I am yet to photograph a skier at the tree. This is perhaps not the best photo I have ever taken, but I blame that on my cold hands at the time!

Health Tip of the Day

Health Tip of the Day

If you love cross-country skiing, like this man, and want to go for a run even when it's really cold, you should use a mouth worn humidity and heat exchanger. They don't cost much and they will save you from an asthma attack. Shot this today at Lake Rudan where the ski club Jordbänningarna, have six snow canons that can produce 90 cubic metre snow per hour. On a good day 200 people go skiing here on the 1,3 km track. For one day you pay 50 SEK, and for one season the price is 200 SEK.
