13C as I approached the old tree late yesterday afternoon after a sunny sitting at the cafe. I had hoped to see a few buds on the tree, but there were no signs of Spring here at all. Not counting the green grass on the fields of course.

This is quite the bonding that you have with "that old tree". Keep it up.
Hopefully a week or two makes the difference for buds.
