Summer vs. Winter

Summer vs. Winter

Time for another diptych in my Different Seasons series. And what a difference it is. This is the grassy beach at Upper Lake Rudan in Handen. The summer part of the photo is from June of last year. The winter half, where you can spot a lone ice skater out on the frozen lake is how the beach looked yesterday.

I always like your diptychs. Your link about winter swimmers is literally chilling!

I vote for summer - it is snowing here now - yuch! I am finished with winter.

Astounding, Steffe. Here in Australa, the difference between winter and summer is nowhere near as extreme. It is rare for the winter temperatures in Sydney to less than 18C as a maximum or less than 10C as a minimum. I suspect much of our winter is comparable with much of your summer.

There seems to be a lot more traffic in the summer! Looks like everyone is inside eating semlor and drinking Gevalia coffee right now!

I have a feeling you are willing summer to begin. The length of the days here in Australia has shortened markedly over the last few weeks so its not far away.

it's a funny idea to justapose theses shots : remind me to come and visit your country both in summer and winter !

It's hard to believe this is the same place. What a transformation it makes between winter and summer.

I would never guess there's water under that snow - that could be bad! Sorry, I was in such a hurry I didn't catch the url on the mural in my photo.
