Snowed In

Winter Bikes

My bike has been in the basement for a week now. Last winter it stayed there for 100 consecutive days after the first snow fall. I wonder how long these snowed-in bikes at the commuter station in Tungelsta will have to wait for their owners to ride them home. Remember that snow cannon I talked about a few days ago? Well yesterday, Nynäshamn got 30 centimetres of the white stuff in a few hours, and as a result traffic came to a stand still. And how about this, some meteorologists here now say that we might get one of those ice storms that usually only hits North America. Something to do with a change in the North Atlantic oscillation. Hurrah!

Wow, do you get snow days, where you get to stay home from work and school? Nice contrast in this photo.

my good friend outside copenhagen said they were socked in with the snow too. chaos on the roads. you'd think you kids who live out there in sweden/denmark would handle snow better than they do here in the USA!

the photo opportunities are lovely, though.

Great photo--bikes plus snow--and the good, white soft snow, too. We only got 2 inches of it yesterday and it's already gone.

We were supposed to get hit last night too but it passed us by. We'll see what the morning has in store. Great shot.

It seems that winter has well and truly moved in. My wife just commented yesterday how she would like to have a white Christmas on day. Its summer down here, so we will have to make a trip of it.

I think it would take more snow for that T. But you never know.

You could be on to something there Peter.

The southern parts of Sweden has had a few problems Christine.

The last time I used cross country skies was...a few decades ago.

I saw that on Sky yesterday John. -18C that is cold.

It looks as if those bikes are huddled together to keep warm.

What a great shot. This is one of those photos I can sit and stare at for a long time. I'm glad, though, that I don't have to deal with that kind of snowfall anymore...

Hope you're having a good week!

There is another bike rack next to this. With no bikes. It looked a bit abstract so I took a snap of tat one as well. Might post it here some day.
