Whenever I am visiting Slätmossen, the old peat moor, made into a popular bird park in Handen, I expect to meet pretty girls like Andrea or the Sun-Worshippers, or even a Dalmatian, but yesterday the park was empty. But suddenly I noticed a Roe Deer Buck walking up behind some trees where it started to eat some tasty blueberries. I was on the bike so I stopped slowly not to scare away the animal and took out my camera from the bag. I had to change to the zoom lens but the buck didn't mind waiting. Normally the animal will run away when they hear something, or if you get to close. But on this occasion it was yours truly who jumped back onto the bike and headed for home while the deer continued his lunch.

Oh dear, the deer is beautiful. You can even animals to pose for you. What a guy! ;-)
Great capture, Steffe Meister! I was driving home from work last week and I saw a mother deer and her two spotted fawns.... but I DIDN'T have my camera!
We were expecting a name and full bio on this guy. Glad he gave you time to change lenses. It seems that whenever we have to, that's when the subject takes off like lightning.

I still remember Andrea, but I have to admit that this deer is handsome, and even so nice to wait you changing lens. When I used a reflex camera I never had such a luck with anything mobile...

I have been following your photo blog for about two months now. I am a newbie photographer and I envy your talent at approaching strangers and taking their picture. Now I see your talent extends beyond that to wildlife photography as well!
A wise animal won't miss its fifteen minutes of global fame. Well snapped. Interesting play with colours. This pretty face somehow doesn't quite seem to belong to that body.
I had never seen this kind of deer before today. It is quite nice and the photograph is very good.
