Kasimir & Wojtek
Meet Kasimir Ruhnke and his son Wojtek. They had just arrived to Sweden and Nynäshamn with the ferry from Poland when I met them. They live in Duisburg, Germany, but are originally from Poland, and they told me that they have been in Człuchów visiting the family. And now they were on their way to Stockholm. From there they will be pedalling north. All the way up to Boden. Then they will head over to Finland and continue south to Helsinki. And after Finland, the next stop will be Tallinn in Estonia, before they go back home. All this in around 16 days, which sounds a little short if you ask me. And as they will be sleeping in their tent, lets hope that the next few weeks will be warm and sunny! After our chat I started shooting, only to realise that I didn't have any battery in the camera! Luckily for me I had an extra battery in the bag. A bike holiday through Scandinavia seems to be a popular choice this summer. It was only two weeks ago that I met Maciej here, he was heading for the North Cape.

It sounds like a lot of work and a very tired and sore rear end to me. I only know about Tallinn in Estonia. I used to know an educator there and some of his students in the 1970s.
Nice portrait of biking father and son duo, Steffe Meister! They'll put on a lot of kilometers! Wow! Tour de Suede!
How come you meet so many people on bike-paths Steffe? Oh wait...
It sounds delightful to me, and I pray I can do it some day. Kasimir looks like an actor : ).
These folks are obviously serious bikers! Their proposed trip sounds like quite an undertaking.
The weather at the moment of your picture looks about perfect.
Best wishes to both of them as they go on their journey!
Again, Steffe, an excellent portrait!
I wish I could go with them. It would be fun to take a bicycle tour one day. Good for them. It's hard enough to get some fathers and sons in the same room, let alone a trip like this. That says something about their relationship.
My lazy soul suffers for them, but I think they'll enjoy the trip. Hope the weather assists, they deserve it.
des gens bien courageux, bravo pour eux.
C'est tout une histoire ! Et le fils ressemble beaucoup à son père ...
A great father and son portrait
Good journeys to them. The boy, the way you've captured him, looks to be the perfect age for discovery and adventure with his dad.
I love the fact you have the ability to do that.
It's always interesting to me the way they can get everything they need for a trip like that loaded onto their bikes. I would need to pull a small trailer to carry all my stuff!
Great story Steffe. You can do it but you have to travel light, when I was much younger I hitch hiked up to and around the north of Scotand. I see your blog and I think I really ought to get another bike.
Very hard work indeed Abe.
I'd like to go on a Tour de Suede some day Leif.
Spot on Eamon, I'm always on the bike!
He could be an actor for all I know MrsLittleJeans.
Thanks Jacob, if the sun is shining I'm always ready for another portrait!
Something to think about Don and Krise.
Ha ha, good one Lois!
Go for it Paul. You see the world a bit different from the bike, and you get fit at the same time!
