One of two tree lined avenues at Lida in Tungelsta. Two hundred years ago Frans G Upmark bought the land here and built the Hammar residence. He also planted the trees for the two avenues. Today I often meet the current owner, Charlotte (an ancestor to Frans), when she comes walking down the road. The avenue, made of Populus trees is seven hundred meters long and ends near the residence. If you read this blog regularly (and who doesn't?), you will have seen the other avenue a few times by now.

Your photos have been wonderful. If today's photos were in the American South, you would expect to see a big mansion at the end of the tree-lined road.
This looks perfectly peaceful. Put a baguette under the cyclist's arm and it could be in France.

This is a gorgeous road. Simply gorgeous. And you've given it such a timeless feeling. What I wouldn't give to be there right now, far away from my usual traffic jams!

You do see a big mansion at the end of the avenue Dave! And up there the road turns sharply to the left and that's where I met Frida a couple of weeks ago. A baguette you say? Why not! I always bring something to eat when I'm out on a bike ride, and often stop to buy a chicken baguette! Tack för det Leif! I often walk here, and when I do I often think about years ago when my dad was young and he worked on the fields to the left. Back then my grandfather owned the land there. Ha good one Mr. Poet! Well Per, apart from the mansion you can see some unusual things at the end of the avenue. Like this. You can also see two cottages where the avenue ends. And if you go behind the mansion you will find a runestone from the Viking Age!
Again, a fabulous scene and setting no matter what time of year. I love how the bicyclist is riding away from you. Just all around perfect!

I did meet a jogger here today. And I have photographed cyclists here before. It's a road I use almost every day.
