Winter at the lakes
Two recent photos from the Upper Lake at the Rudan nature reserve in Handen. I don't know exactly how thick the ice was, but thick enough for ice skating around the frozen lake as proven here. Parking the bike out on the ice like that is a bit unusual. Looks like the family on the second photo are preparing for both ice skating and Ice fishing, although if he wants to catch any fish he should head over to the Lower lake.

Never thought that you could use snow as a bike standard. Never to old to learn something but that you still have this weather. Unbelievable.
That's a good sized path for skating around the lake!
Looks like a lot of fun...I can imagine skating on that ice but not biking! I'd be singing Paul Simon's "Slip Sliding Away"!
It certainly looks like it's stayed very cold for you. This is a beautiful lake.
I bike in snow a lot, but it's not much fun. No one is cycling on the ice Lowell, the owner just parked it there when he or she was out ice skating. No snow left Kay, but the ice here is thick so it will take a while for it to melt. We had 10C today.
Interesting that someone has plowed the snow off to make a skating oval. Maybe this is a place where young people dream of becoming speed skaters.
