1955 Buick Century
Spring is definitely here now. Spotted this old Buick parked at the shopping centre in in Västerhaninge a couple of days ago. The owner told me that he had bought the car after last Summer's annual greaser meet at Vegabaren, (one of my favorite events in Haninge). He looked familiar, as did his girlfriend, whom I am pretty sure I have photographed at that event once or twice, but this time I was happy just to shoot the old Buick.

Those were grand old cars. I graduated from high school in 1954. One of my classmates worked part-time at a Buick dealership. Unbeknownst to the rest of us, he actually stole a new 1954 Buick, drove it to school every day (parking a few blocks away). He finally got caught and did some time in prison.
Så utomordentligt trevliga linjer på dessa äldre skönheter. En grill som verkligen är en grill. Krom. Fint fotograferad från "rätt" vinkel, snyggt!
What a beautiful car!
That's when cars were cars!
Great looking classic car of yesteryear not like the cheap stuff they call cars today.
Greaser meet? That's too funny!! A great old Buick, love the heavy-duty bumper/grill, and nice low perspective on your photo.
Of course you would be. Late 50s? Growing up in NYC, my family didn't get a car until I was six. It was a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, two toned light and dark blue. A rare find now.
Totally cool!
I have hundreds of photos from the annual Greaser meet if you want to check them out. I have collected them in sets at flickr, one set for every year. An easy way to see the photos is to press here.
I have a set with photos of a 1957 Bel Air for you Bob. Here.
