Chaos

Chaos
Weather Update. At the moment 40 trucks are stuck at Porlamalm, a few kilometres from where I live. Icy roads all over the place. In the south of the country there's a massive traffic accident involving 100 cars which has claimed several lives so far. www.thelocal.se/45626/20130115/

I hate driving in weather like this. Very sad to hear that you have had some fatalities. The best thing to do is stay home and watch the snow from your window!

One hundred??? And with fatalities too—that's just awful. Please stay safe.

Nice - it keeps snowing in Stockholm area as well

I just assumed the Swedes handled these foul weather conditions better than Canadians. It sounds like we manage them about the same.

Oh my goodness. Add some Frenchmen and you'd have a fight on top of everything else.

Love how you caught this old truck.

Oh no! Not good. (Your photograph, however, is pretty neat.)

Bad weather for sure.

That was covered on America's national news program, which almost never covers traffic accidents.

That is horrible. Nice old truck though.

That's a crisis. People can't cope with their day-to-day needs. It happens in parts of our country, too, but rarely right in our area. We are on about the same parallel as Madrid and Rome.

I love this image Steffe, but that's very shocking news, I guess the extreme winter weather is not any fun at all.

Many of the trucks are from southern Europe, and they don't have winter tires, so they will often be in trouble in this kind of weather. Looks like only one person died in the big crash. The car in my photo is an EPA-tractor. You can read more about that unique vehicle here.
