That Old Tree
It was my 303th visit to the old tree at Välsta. It was snowing. It felt a bit like a snow storm in the windy and cold weather, but you can't let that stop you. Arriving to the tree I was surprised to see two people already there. A man was taking a photo of a woman posing in front of the now world famous tree. And when they noticed me walking towards them they asked themselves, who is that madman? The madman told them about his photography project involving the old tree as he took a few snaps of the couple standing next to the Swedish Whitebeam. The couple lived nearby at Nederstaleden in Västerhaninge and it wasn't their first visit either. They then decided to take a short-cut across the fields, the same fields I walked over last week when I nearly missed the old tree!

Great story and great photo. Thanks!
this is a beauty.
You are not alone in your admiration of this lone tree, and the tree is not alone.
It's nice the tree gets visits and company! The photo is gorgeous.
I have been hoping you would show your tree again soon. I wanted to see it with the snow. I am still looking for 'my' tree. It is a fun project. Really like this rare opportunity to include a couple in your shot.
Brilliant wintery shot of the tree!
Lovely photo in composition - close and far away :)
There it is again. I enjoy following the photographic record of your journeys to that old tree.
You have taken some beautiful pictures of this tree but today's photo is museum quality. The contrast and tonality are perfect. The people lend a sense of scale and lessen the harshness of the day.
I agree with your comment on St. Louis DP yesterday. America is arrogant about its baseball championships. The sport is also played in Canada, Japan, Korea, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Venezuela. You won't find their teams in our playoffs. But maybe we do produce the world champion, since our rich teams hire the world's best players.
So very beautiful with the snow.
I love this photo. Thank you for sharing it.
The old tree fan club is growing. LOve it in the snow.
