Poetic word of the day

Soft Rime On my coldest winter promenade so far this year I shot a lot of photos like this one. Soft rime on all the trees. We have a more poetic name for it in Swedish. We call it Rimfrost. The temperature was -15C. But thanks to the sun that shone from a blue sky it didnt feel that cold, but I was of course wearing many layers of clothing!

Your ears should have been burning today. When I was out trekking around in the snow with my husband today, I was quoting your temperatures and telling him about your great winter shots. Having that blue sky must be an asset!

The icy tree looks great against the clear blue sky.

That's a beautiful seasonal landscape. I like how you got the light on the tree.

We have had no worse than -11 and that was overnight.

I did make a stop at the old tree for a photo. Let me know if you want to see it.

thought it was a silver birch at first before realising it was frost not leaves - the sky is a lovely blue.
