I have previously tried a shooting technique that is sometimes called The Brenizer Method. You stitch lots of pictures with shallow depth of field to create the impression of medium format or large format photography. I first learned about this technique via my long time flickr friend Patrick Power, who has been shooting like this for several years. So using the Nifty Fifty at f 1.8, I took 19 photos of this 1951 Chevrolet Stepside and stitched those photos together to create this photo.

Sounds like a lot of work. Wow, what a beautiful truck! You can't beat that for a photo shoot.

Great looking old truck. I'm going to have to read about the Brenizer method, sounds interesting.
This is a first for me. I doubt I have the patience for the
Brenizer Method.
But I love '51 Chev and GMC pickups.
I liked the shot before I knew how it was created. Now I really like it. :-)
I've never heard of this technique before. Following your reference, it's explained that the technique uses a telephoto yet you used a Nifty Fifty. It would have been interesting to see a comparison of the technique with two different lenses.

Wow. The style of photography is excellent, as it feels like the car is ready to jump out of the frame. The focus is all on the car, highlighting its aggressive lines and sharp appearance. The 19 pictures of this Chevy are well worth the effort!
Thanks all. Since shooting this I have done three more. Sadly my computer died a few days ago and the laptop I am using today don't have the power needed to stitch all the photos up!

That car looks very sharp with its details. Looks like you used a high megapixel camera to take this shot. There is no sign of any edited part. The combination of the blue body and the black bumpers with chromed trim is just plain beautiful! Nice job editing, man.
