A Happy Cyclist

Winter Cycling

The weather this week has been pretty good. Two day with blue skies and two with grey skies, but it has been warm enough to use the bike. It is still very icy on some of the walkways and bike paths so you have to be really careful. I don't have winter tires on my bike like this guy that I met in Jordbro yesterday. I had just jumped off my bike and was taking photos of a gate with a lot of snow behind it, when he came charging towards me. I had time to take a few quick snaps before he was gone, but I did notice the smile on his face when he passed me. There is a life after the Winter!

Super shot. Cycling as an alternative means of transportation is becoming increasingly popular in Minnesota and esp. the Twin Cities. My hat is off to these hearty souls!

I didn't know that there were winter tires for bikes. But it makes sense. Yay for improving weather!!

Looks like he has all the right gear, also liked your St Lucia's photo, when I first visited Sweden (in 1985) I arrived at Stockholm train station on this day and was amazed by these girls dressed in white -singing.

Great shot! Biking is year-round (for others, not me ... I'm a Spring-Autumn biker only) here in Chicago - even with our blizzard yesterday!

I normally bike year round but the two last winters have been to snowy and cold for that, but it has been great to be out on the roads again.
