Would You Like To Sit Down?

The Rondo

Two snowed in wooden benches and works of art. Perfect for the February theme day. This type of circular bench is called Rondo. It was designed by the sculptor Lennart Andersson whom I met as he was working on them back in July of 2008. So if you would like to see him in action press here. I often sit on this bench when it's not covered in snow. And I have also shot a portrait here. I called that post, A Meeting at the Rondo. You will find the benches on a lawn next to the library in Västerhaninge. They are very close to the commuter station so people will often sit here and wait for the bus or the train, just like Carolin did.

Very nice, but I guess I would prefer to sit there in the spring or summertime..

I like that the artist has left the trees room to grow. Sitting there now 'wood' leave you with a very chilly bottom.

Nice wooden benches, better to see the again in spring. The artist looks like a carpenter to me, but this is how goes the world now...

Thanks for your invitation to sit a spell, but if you won't take it personally, I think I'll wait until spring. It has been a good many years since I enjoyed sitting in snow! -:)

Happy Theme Day!

I think I'll wait until spring, so I don't freeze my rear off thank you! Nice Theme Day post.

That's just too much snow. I guess people who want to sit there need to carry with them a small shovel.

"Meet me at the rondo. And don't forget to bring your shovel!"

So much snow. I could imagine you must be sick of it by now. Pack it up and send it here, we could do with some cooler temperatures.

I'm not sure why the Rondo covered with snow would make me smile, but it does. I enjoyed the pictures of the artist building it as well!

I think I'll stand today, Steffe. It's your turn to sit. ;-)

Thanks, but no thank you.

I love how the snow looks like it was deliberately packed onto the benches. So neat!

I remember both of these prior posts very well. I wonder how many of your followers have tried to build a copy of these benches.

The rounded patterned snow looks neat. It seemed like somebody really did a great job scraping the excesses.
