The Off Season

The Off Season

IMG_7817

It's the off-season for both middle age amateur gardeners, and young semi-professional trampoliners as you can see on the first photo, taken the other day at a garden at Fornminnesvägen in Tungelsta. The newish owners (who I don't know, but I know that they have seen some of my photos), have completely rebuilt the old house, (second photo is from my flickr archive). For many years a man called Sven Persson lived here. He was a bit of an original. He was a socialist and well known for his strong believes. I think he had a big collection of political posters in his cellar. I was actually contacted by a historian last year who wanted some info about Mr Persson. I told him what I knew, but he had already received that same information from a few other people, including the now deceased Mr. Wall who knew everything about everyone and who lived in this beautiful house.

These are lovely winter photos, Steffe. And yes, it doesn't appear possible to get much done, either gardening, building or trampolining what with all that white stuff on the ground!

I bet this is one family that will 'jump for joy' when the snow melts.

This is a beautiful house. Thanks for the photo.

Interesting. Did they raise the house as part of the renovation? It sure is a nice looking place.

encore de superbes photos sous la neige, j'adore mais je trouve cela impressionnant

There are quite a few busy construction sites around here despite the snow. Maybe I will show a few of those here tomorrow.

It's possible that I have a photo somewhere taken before the renovation. If I find it I will post a link here.

I love the old house. It looks well taken care of. I hope the amateur trampoliners will not be disappointed in spring. The weight of the snow might prove too much for the contraption.

It is beautiful! I like the barn style roof.

The trampoline isn't so interesting but that beautiful house sure is! What kind of socialist beliefs did Mr. Persson have?

Not much fun with any of these activities under that snow. Nice set of pictures, I wonder where is gone the collection of poster of your neighbor. That was probably museum stuff...

He was never my neighbour. Not sure what happened with the posters. Museum sounds about right. They probably are very collectible. I'm no expert on that Leif, so I can't tell you more.
