Winter Bus Stop

Winter

Retirement Home

It's -14 Celsius as I'm typing this. Kinda cold even for us Vikings. Today's winter photos shows a bus stop in Tungelsta. Not a place where you would want to wait more than a couple of minutes in this type of weather. Second photo shows the retirement home Ros-Anders Gård. (you can see part of it on the bus stop photo). Named after one of Tungelsta's first gardeners who started a plant nursery on this land 100 years ago. The retirement home was designed by ANOVA architects. It has 40 modern apartments. It was mentioned in a book called Design For Assisted Living written by an American architect called Victor Reigner, who listed this as one of the most interesting retirement homes in the world. To the right on the top photo you can see the pentecostal church. And as most people around here aren't very religious any more (if ever), the building will soon be turned into the new headquarters for the Music Central, so you can expect to hear a lot of rock, punk and reggae music from there in the future. The Music Central is the people behind the Garden Rock Festival.

Brrr. Sorry to mention this, but I have posted a Christmas season photo of people lounging in the sun in a swimming pool.

Hopefully you dont have to sit at the bus stop to wait. Looks like someone has already cleared a spot.

Sure hope there is a new assisted living facility to replace this one.

It would be interesting to see INSIDE the assisted living home! I wonder what makes it so special?

Looks very cold. Hope the bus service is good!

Both photos are picturesque, esp. the bus stop. Despite the weather, it still has a "cozy" aura about it.

All I can say is I hope you dress warm. In Boston it's only -6 C, so I won't complain.

I really like the first picture. It just seems to generate a sense of calm and serenity amidst all that cold.

Happy Holidays!

I remember quite well that in the first photos I saw on your blog there was a lot of snow, which was really fascinating for me.
Now we're back at that and it is very cold even here, not -14°C but still around zero, which is not so common in December in Tuscany.

The whole scene in the snow with the bus stop as the focus looks brilliant.

Thanks all.

It's freeeezing Washington!

Thankfully it's not as cold today. More like -2 Celsius. Lounging by a swimming pool sounds like Christmas to me Dave!

Well spotted Jim. Good one B Squared.

I haven't been inside Leif, at least not yet.

There's a bus every 15 minutes. And from this bus stop it's only 50 meters to the commuter station.

I'm very happy with the top photo. The other photo is from my flickr archive. I have a summer version of the retirement home there as well.
