A Christmas Story

A Christmas Story

Most of the 4.5 million families in this country will get a tree for Christmas. Preferably a beautiful Norway spruce, like this one, that will survive for another year. Around three million trees will be cut down in Sweden this Christmas. For some reason we also import 300 000 Christmas trees from Denmark. In a recent survey half the people asked, admitted to having stolen a tree at some time. This year 400 000 trees will be stolen. Which means that a lot of people will head out into the woods with an axe and a saw to get a tree for free. What they don't realise is that some forest owners will spray their trees with fertilizer...

Merry Christmas everyone!

Beautiful tree. Did you ever steal one? Have a great holiday!

Stealing a tree? A different kind of Christmas spirit!! This tree is stately, and I hope it survives the cruel axe. Our holiday is VERY snowy with 20 inches predicted. It started during the night, and it seems eerily quiet right now with no cars or people to be seen in the neighborhood. Debating about going out into the morning light to take a few snaps, but it's so cold!!

That's a lot of trees! Not so nice if you have a smelly one. Merry Christmas!

I guess some Swedes take the "allmansratt" idea too far! Do you have a Christmas tree in your living room? Show us a photo of your Christmas tree and decorations, tack!

This is a beautiful tree, I'm glad it wasn't stolen. We have an artificial tree, so no worries from us!

Best wishes for a wonderful Christmas to you!!

Some stories are disconcerting: it's probably the occasion that makes thief the man and you have so many trees, but they are a finite number even if others trees will grew again.
It seems a bit of a folly...
Have a nice Christmas Eve and a Merry Christmas!

No, I don't have a Christmas tree, so I don't need to steal one! Must be a big surprise to those people as the tree starts to smell.

God Jul everyone.
