The Roads Less Travelled
As you probably know by now, I use my bicycle to get around. And here are two recent photos from a couple of bike trips around Haninge. The top photo shows Tjursta in Österhaninge. According to the latest version of the local bike map you can follow this gravel road all the way to the seaside resort Dalarö. A great idea as the traffic on the main road can be a bit hectic. Unfortunately I had to turn around a kilometre from here, because of the very rocky road, but I will try again later. If you live locally and need directions, you turn off the Dalarö Road at the Valsta Runestone.
Second photo shows the Hemfosa Horse Farm at Hemfosa. And if you take this very old and bumpy gravel road, that starts in Tungelsta, it will take you all the way to the impressive gates at the Häringe Castle. The historical old castle is situated on a peninsula with a nature reserve and is well worth a visit. And there's absolutely no traffic here if you don't count the odd horse back riders!

This is so different to the Australian countryside, Steffe. I guess that stands to reason!
The barns and houses look so very quaint to me.
These are very pretty photos, Steffe. I like the looks of the landscape there where you were riding your bicycle.
I think I would prefer that road too. The countryside is so scenic!
Very pretty. I really like the first picture, but then I'm very partial to road pictures.
The countryside looks a lot to me like rural Vermont, a northern New England state.
Really great images, a countryside so peaceful e scenic. I'd like to ride a bike there, no traffic, no hassle.
Yes, I consider bike riding a relaxing, if tiring, pastime when it has the main purpose of transportation.
I'm just thinking to follow your example, but I'm worried by the serial stealing of bikes here.
Makes me want to go on a Swedish bike tour.
This looks so familiar and I've never been to Sweden...but the Swedes in Minnesota built farms that look much like these - naturally. I've always loved them and spent lots of time on them when young.
It surely must be great to drive on these roads as the scenery is lovely around them. Great shots!
Looks a bit like here in Poland, only houses are different! Nice, quiet place.
Thank for comment on my blog:)
You can't drive on the road in the first photo because there's a gate up at the farm, but on bicycle it's possible to continue down the road. Stealing bikes is a popular pastime over here as well. A bike tour around Sweden is a popular vacation idea these days. One million people left Sweden for the US back in the day so I'm guessing they have left their mark all over the US. It's just across the water from Poland so you would probably feel at home here joo.
Roads less travelled are always fascinating...beautiful crisp shots...glorious colours
