My kind of transport
It's the first of the month again. Theme day, and for August the theme is Metal. I choose this beautiful old bike as it is my kind of transport. A classic 1950ths tandem bicycle with a help engine, probably made by Gefle Velocipedfabrik. I found it at the classic car event at Torvalla earlier this summer. Back in the 1950ths that engine would set you back some 425 SEK. I wouldn't mind having one of these cool rides. Although I did see a similar modern bicycle a while back. It's called Powabyke. Probably better for the environment as it runs on a 200 watt motor that you can use turn on if and when you get tired.

Never seen anything like that around here!!! Great choice!!!!!
(mine is already prepared, but it is still 23h41 here in Lisbon... DO be patient... LOL)
What a find.
I've seen a few electric assist bikes around here, but nothing with such style. This reminds me of something Kim in Seattle linked to:
The Conference Bike
Bicycles are good photographic choices. To me there is always a story behind a bicycle.
A unique bicyle and nice color. Perfect picture for the theme day. Happy Theme Day!
Great bike--I wouldn't mind riding this one!
Great choice for theme day! I'm dreaming to have that kind of bike! How old is it?
How unusual. What a great choice for today. I've never seen anything like it - what fun to ride. I expect we'll all be reading bicycles soon - no bad thing! Nice this one has a little motor tho!
That's a very different kind of bicycle!
Happy Theme Day!
I've never been keen on the idea of a tandem. It's a great lookign piece of machinery. Great find.

Terrific shot! What a neat bike!
A bicycle built for two! Great choice, and we think alike. My post is of an antique high-wheel bike.
A motorized bicycle for two? Excellent idea! Being the person on the back always stinks 'cause you can't see. And being the person on the front sucks 'cause you do most of the work. Bravo to the person who decided to motorize this.
Happy Theme Day!
Janet
Thanks all. This one is from the 1950ths. It was a very popular model back then. I'm hoping for a comeback!
i love your choice for the metal theme day!
if it wasn't too dangerous to ride a bicycle around the city it would be my favourite way of transport too!
happy august theme day Steffe!
Nice classic. I wouldn't mind riding on the front OR the back of this bike.
