The old Hotel

The old Hotel

If you had arrived to Tungelsta on business, from Stockholm or Nynäshamn, perhaps by the steam train, sometime during the 1920s and 1930s, this would have been where you stayed. Back then it was known as Dahlin's Pensionat (hotel). Operated by Emil Dahlin and his wife Jenny Magnusson. I don't know if Herbert Tingsten ever stayed at the hotel, but he did marry their daughter Gerd. On arrival you would have seen the hotel from the train as it's located close to the railway track. Today it's a private home.

That's interesting Conner. I talked to the new owner a while back. He told me that he got a few papers with information about the building, but I don't know anything about your family. Perhaps you can fill me in!
