Ribby

Ribby

Located in what can be described as a little park, this is what's left of the village known as Ribby in Västerhaninge The yellow mansion is around 200 years old but Ribby dates back some 700 years. The red buildings are a milk barn and a building where the farmer used to store food and clothing. A previous owner, a doctor, was friends with Carl von Linné and one of his students, Daniel Henrik Söderberg wrote a book here. Back then there was a big garden in the area. If you continue down the Blåkulla Road you will find this rune stone from the Viking era. Bigger photo.

How lovely! I love the bare trees, the leaves on the ground, and the rustic, beautiful colors; thanks for sharing!

What you don't see here is the new area just 20 meters to the right. With a couple of big terrace houses.
