People of all ages

The big greaser meet Grand Prix Raggarbil at Vegabaren in Handen is heaven for street photography. This year I decided to shoot more portraits. Most of them candid snaps. Expect more to come in the coming days. The little girs was very impressed by that skull on the car.

Grand Prix Raggarbil 2016

I spent nearly for hours at Vegabaren in Handen today. It was time for the annual greaser meet. Raggare from all over Sweden got together for a few hours of fun. This is a unique Swedish subculture. Hundreds of American classic cars. A few hot babes. Some cool dudes, and a lot of sunshine. I have enough photos for a few years of blogging.

The Northern Girl

Summer returned and with it my lust for street portraits. I was enjoying a light lunch (two hot dogs), when a girl walked past where I was sitting. A couple of minutes later I spotted her from the bike and decided to ask her for a portrait. This is Jonna. Originally from up North, she grew up in Sundsvall Jonna lives in Haninge these days. She works at an insurance company. One of her big hobbies is music. She enjoyes Indie Rock and tries to go to as many festivals as she can.

Muscle Car Meet

You need a bit of luck sometimes. I was on my way home from the motorcycle meet a few days ago, when I noticed a few cars parked on both sides on the road at the Jordbro industrial area. Normally there's never anything parked there so I decided to check it out, and I'm glad I did. Turned out to be a muscle car meet at the Shell station. Only announced via Facebook to the people interested in partaking. Around 100 muscle cars had filled up the station and people of all ages were looking, discussing, photographing or just sitting around taking it all in. Enjoy the slideshow.

Beach Life

It was nice of Summer to return to Haninge again. I stopped by the beach yesterday. No swimming for me but it was nice and sunny. This girl was at the beach with her boyfriend. They had chairs with them and hats and sat on the grassy area before deciding on some hard sunbathing on the sand.

The German Gesture?

I'm probably not up to date with the different cultural etiquette rules, so I can't be sure what this one means. Two of four German guys that I spotted at the beach today.

Dead Man's Curve

My second post from The Easy Rider festival, held every year at the famous Vegabaren in Handen. This was a cool Bike. A Boss Hoss. Just like the bike I showed you yesterday it is a bit on the expensive side. I took the first photo with my old Canon and the other two with the full frame camera. Oh, and there is a road with several dead man's curves not far from here along Slingerbulten in Tungelsta.

Boss Hoss

I visited the annual motorcycle meet at Vegabaren in Handen today. The Easy Rider Festival. Summer had returned and it was warm and sunny. Unfortunately the meet collided with the big Mälaren Runt motorcycle race which attracts around 25 000 riders, so Vegabaren wasn't too crowded this time around. This is a Boss Hoss bike. It will set you back nearly a million SEK.

That Old Tree

It started to rain as I took this photo yesterday. The wind picked up a bit and the temperature dropped. Looks like Summer is on the way out.

A new tradition

Hundreds of cars are being torched at the moment all around Sweden. Mostly in the suburbs. It is a new tradition. Dating back a few years, usually the week before the schools open again. This one looks to have been stolen first, and the torched at Hanveden, from where many people get their drinking water, including the Coca-Cola plant. Article in English about it at The Local.

Hey Look!

I took a few candid photos during the rock festival "Trädgårdsrocken", on Saturday, although I was spotted on a few occasions like you can see here when both Janne Jogenstedt and Victor St. Ekvall notices me. It was a fun day. Lots of new bands to listen to, and a few I had seen and heard before. I missed a few of them as I had to leave the park a few times during the day. The Intolerants

Two bands at the "Trädgårdsrocken" festival in the park in Tungelsta on Saturday played Psychobilly. That is a mix of punk and rockabilly. These guys are The Intolerants. They played for 45 minutes, sounded great live. Lots of tattoos on these guys, that's for sure. The singer was a bit special. He walked out into the crowds and sang from there, when he wasn't sitting on the stage, or asking peoples names and what have you.

Fonzi TheBeast Bolin & Scorpion

Quite a few photographers at the Trädgårdsrocken music festival in Tungelsta yesterday. First photo shows Fonzi TheBeast Bolin. He represents Artists Against Cancer. They were selling t-shirts at the festival. No idea who the second photographer is but lets call him The Scorpion because of his tattoo.

TAZ

The annual rock concert in the park in Tungelsta is under way. The event is known as Trädgårdsrocken. Warm and sunny, but not as hot as the last couple of years. The park is slowly filling up with people. The first act to perform was this guy. TAZ.

Old&New

The Century old station house in Tungelsta reflected in the new addition to the commuter platform, built this Summer. Traffic started again this week, but it will be a while longer until everything is finished.

French or American

Do you want to go for a ride in a 1968 Peugeot convertible. Or do you prefer a 1975 Camaro.

That Old Tree

After one week in bed with a serious back pain I was up and running (biking), again today. My first stop was the old tree. My next stop was the convenient store, Konsum in Västerhaninge. I was only going to buy two items, and when I noticed that it was a gigantic queue I shouted to one of the employees to open a second register. I can't do that she shouted back and pointed to a police officer. Two stores at the shopping centre had just been robbed, and a couple of employees had overpowered the robber! When I looked around I also noticed the police tape.

Brutal

This guy has to be a serious weightlifter. Spotted at Poseidon's square in Handen before I hurt my back. It has been a brutal week. I have spent it mostly in bed with a serious back pain. Don't actually remember much from the last week or so and that is thanks to all the painkillers.

Razor Sharp Nails

There was a time when her co-workers at Stockholmståg (commuter service),used to steal her coffee. That doesn't happen these days.

Coming & Going

People watching at Poseidon's square. If you keep at it for a while chances are that you will see the same people twice. Like this hand holding couple that was on their way to the grocery store at the Haninge mall earlier in the week.

Not Without My Smartphone

People watching is great fun. I spotted this couple sitting next to the stairs at Poseidon's square earlier in the week. Very busy on their smartphones. A little later the came walking towards me, still very busy on their smartphones. But then again I was busy on my DSLR.

Different dress codes

Earlier in the week when I could still move around I shot a few candid photos of people coming and going at the big square outside the cultural centre in Handen.

A Rural Bike Ride

Before I hurt my back I took a rural bike ride through parts of Österhaninge. It was an amazing Summer day. Perfect temperature, a blue sky with fluffy clouds and with a cooling breeze. On the first photo you can see the fields and stable at Hesslingby. The wheat fields on the second photo are close to Alby.

Façade cleaning

It is important to have a clean façade. And there are many different methods for doing that sort of thing. Spotted this guy in Handen yesterday just before I headed home to refurbish the kitchen with new work benches. And wouldn't you know it. As I moved one of the benches I hurt my back so now I can't move at all!

People Watching at Jordans Coffee

It was a fun week visiting Jordan's Coffee at Poseidon's square in Handen. The coffee was okay, although it got cold too fast, maybe another set of mugs will fix that. They don't bake anything as they don't have a bakery, that is a minus as I always want to try a few local treats, but my buddy Jim enjoyed the rhubarb pie and local legend Tompa Eken tried the sandwiches on at least two sittings. The outdoor seating area is in the shade in the early afternoon, and that only works on really warm days. But the view over the square is superb and as I'm addicted to shooting candid photos I will have to approve of the cafe. Here are a few more (32), candid scenes from the square.
