The Tower

The Tower
This sculpture is called Tornet, The Tower. Originally made by Jan Håfström. It stands in the park in Tungelsta. The kids enjoyed climbing on it a little too much so it started to fall apart. No one seemed to care much about that, but then in October of 2014 the municipality put up a fence around the sculpture and earlier in the Summer the repair work started. And then last week, nearly two years later it have been repaired. Not to it's former glory, because it looks a bit different and I don't think that the artist who created it has had any say in the repair job.

Is the rest of the tower below ground? Love the picture.

Supposedly so. This is the passing to the Underworld according to the artist. The border between the living and the dead!

Hmmm. I would have thought the title of it would be "cup half empty or half full?".

Peculiar concept, artistically speaking.

I can see why the kids would have enjoyed playing on the tower Steffe, looks like it fun 😊 They haven't taken too much care to match the bricks in the restoration have they :) It's an interesting concept!
