Harley Riders

Road King Harley & Guitar
The Harley Davidson club in Sweden is the biggest independent club in the world. It has more than 8000 members. They have a big meet every Summer and I have been to one of them. Here are two recent photos of Harley riders. First one is a Road King. Second snap is of a Dyna Wide Glide and that guy seems to have more than one hobby. He is a keen fisher and he enjoys playing the guitar.

Mopar & Doris

Dodge Polara Doris
Dad out on a Summer drive with two happy kids in a 1968 Dodge Polara Convertible. I hope they have their seat-belts on. Also a Chevrolet Chevy II that the owner have named Doris for some reason. Shot that one using the panning technique. Photos taken from a pedestrian bridge that crosses Gudöbroleden in Handen.

Organ Donors

Organ Donor Coffee to Go
While shooting some snaps from a bridge I spotted at least two potential organ donors. Driving without a helmet in the busy traffic can be really stupid and of course very illegal. The fine for that is 1500SEK. Driving around with a mug of coffee in one hand seems a bit ridiculous. And unnecessary as it would be very tricky to drink some of that coffee with the helmet on!

Stefan Korpar

Stefan Korpar Tumpiano
I spotted a guy playing the guitar at the bus terminal in Västerhaninge the other day. He wasn't busking or anything, just waiting for his ride. This is Stefan Korpar. He lives in Sköndal. He is a student. A future musician he told me. But he is already a musician as he plays in the band Munnen. They play experimental punk. On the second photo Stefan is showing me an instrument that he is currently building. A Kalimba. Or African Thumb Piano. His will have a microphone added so that he can record loops to his computer. The bands latest release is called SMAKA NYA STADEN.

Wheat Field

The bridge Standing Tall
A wheat field at the Nödesta Västergård photographed from two different angles on separate days. Always trying to think a bit outside the box. First photo with the Krigslida bridge, shot with the silent zoom lens. Second photo taken with the nifty fifty.

The Climber

The Rock Climber The Climber
On my way to Handen two days ago I spotted a guy trying to climb up the old execution rock at Hanveden. That is not something you see every day so I had to stop for a chat and a photo. Meet Per Åström from Västerhaninge. Climbing is his (new),passion. Be it bouldering or rope climbing. This rock isn't very high, but it was still a hard ascend because when I rode back an hour or so later Per was still there giving it another go. He told me a bit about the technique and how it can be hard on the fingers. He also told me that he had just arrived home from one weeks rope climbing in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.

Ford Falcon Ranchero

1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero Ford Falcon Ranchero
When I saw this car drive away from me in Västerhaninge two days ago I figured I had missed my chance of taking some photos of it. But then 20 minutes later in another part of Haninge there it was again. Driving towards me so I waved to the driver and when he stopped I asked if he had a few minutes. Tony told me that he bought the 1965 Ford Falcon Rancher earlier this year. It's a very rare car. Only 600 or so were made and he thought his was the only one in Sweden, or Europe even. Both photos shot using the Brenizer method. Fifteen or so photos per image, shot with the nifty fifty at f/2.8.

Husqvarna Roulette

Husqvarna Roulette
Found this vintage moped parked outside a grocery store in Västerhaninge yesterday. It's a 1957 Husqvarna Roulette. Designed by Sixten Sason. A real monster at 0.8 hp. Came with two or three speeds. Cost 790SEK back in 1957. Today owned by Leffe whom you have met on the blog a few times. He normally rides a Harley.

Beatrice

Beatrice I was on my way home after a rather unsuccessful day of photography when I spotted a blond girl with silver colored shoes. So I decided to ask her for a portrait. This is Beatrice. From Västerhaninge. Still in secondary school. But she has already decided on her future. Beatrice is a future economist. Her hobbies include working out at the gym and playing classical pieces on the piano. It was a tricky shoot, the wind picked up. I used one focus point and aimed for one of her eyes, but on a few of the photos the camera locked on to her blond hair that was flying left and right!

Darkness and light

Darkness and Light Darkness and Light
The theme at this years Art Promenade (Kulturstigen), at the Kyrkskolan Art Gallery in Österhaninge is Darkness and Light. (Ljus och mörker). One of the artists, Marianne Kopamees decided to use Gargamel and a few smurfs in her installation! First photo shows the dark room with Gargamel and his cat Azrael, where the long shadows exists. Second photo shows the lit up room with the smurfs, where playfulness and joy exists. Oh, and fun fact, the tree that you can see on the wall here is the toothache tree that I have photographed a couple of times.

That Old Tree

That Old Tree That Old Tree
Here are my two, (so far), July photos of the old tree. It was warm and windy on my first visit this month (second photo),and a bit calmer the week after that. If you look closely you can see that the farmer have been busy harvesting the hay.

I live on the dark side

The Dark Side Sanna Tied Up Angel
The first time I stopped this girl and asked her for a portrait she promptly refused. That was maybe two years ago. It was the tattoo of the cross near her eye that caught my eye that time. Since then I have seen her many times and I must have stopped her and asked her for a few photos, four or five times, but she has always turned me down. Until two days ago that is when we met on a walkway near Jordbro. She had her headphones on when I stopped the bike and waved to her. Her name turned out to be Sanna. She lives in Västerhaninge. She is not religious in the Christian way, but she does have her own believes. I live on the dark side she told me. Hence the tattoo of the tied up angel. Sanna spends a lot of time in the gym, working out is a big part of her life as is as you can guess tattoos.

Two powered paragliders in flight

No, the other right!
This is what we do for fun in Tungelsta on a Summer evening. Well maybe not everyone, but there are a few people that I know that will take their powered paragliders for spin in the sky every now and then. These guys flew over my home on Monday evening. Clear skies, no wind and maybe 18C.

The Longboard Girl

Tove The Longboard Girl
It's been a cold and rainy Summer this year, and I haven't shot as many street portraits as I would normally do, but when I saw Tove riding her longboard in Handen yesterday I decided to ask her for a portrait. Tove graduated from secondary school earlier in the year, but is yet to figure out her next move in life. She enjoys photography and her next camera will be a Canon. Such a clever girl! She also likes drawing and painting.

Vit Kattost

Whateveritis Malva field
I titled the top photo whateveritis when I posted it on flickr. But if my flickr friend Marcus is correct, this is Vit Kattost. Malva pusilla Sm. Small mallow in English, but the Swedish name wins because if you direct translate it back to English it means Tiny Cat Cheese. Anyway it is on the endangered list so it is a good thing that the farmer at the Nödesta farm, Janne decided to raise the crop here in front of the smithy that I show you every now and then. And no I don't know if the crop is useful at all.

Anonymous

Anonymous
For many years the sculpture The Jester, by Bror Marklund could be seen on this plinth at the Västerhaninge shopping center. But then one day it was gone. I'm guessing because it needed some fixing up. That was a few years ago. Now, all of a sudden, a new artwork have found it's way to the jester's place. An anonymous bust. Very unofficial of course. It will be interesting to see how long this Guerrilla artwork gets to stay here. If you want to see the original artwork press here.

Ford Super Deluxe Convertible

Ford Super Deluxe Convertible
Yesterday I showed you a customized Ford Super Deluxe from 1941. And here is another Ford Super Deluxe. Also from 1941. But this one is not customized, but a convertible. Hard to pick between the two I think. Original design or Kustom, still two very classy rides it is!

Kustom Car

Ford Super Deluxe Custom Ford
A 1941 Ford Super Deluxe. The car has been in Sweden since 1941. But the customizing is very recent. And superbly done. I found the Ford parked at the Port 73 mall earlier in the week. Shot with the pancake lens. Both photos shot with the 40mm pancake lens. First photo is a Brenizer method shot and consists of nine photos stitched together.

Prefab Modules

Prefab Modules ABC My CDP blogging friend in Livorno wished that he could have been here to watch a bit more of this prefab module technique that they are using more and more of in Sweden, so here are a couple of photos from the new apartment building currently being built at Tuvvägen in Handen. You often see people stop for a while when they are lifting another module into place. These guys (and girls), are professional so it is done quickly and safely.

Smultron

Red and very delicious Smultron
A "smultronställe" is a favorite place that you want to keep a secret. It is also a movie by Ingmar Bergman. Smultron is also the Swedish name of the wild strawberry. It is a very tiny and sweet berry. Whenever I manage to find a few "smultron" I will eat them with my "filmjölk" for breakfast. Luckily for me there are a few "smultronställen" at Bergdalen where I live and that's where I took these photos.

1940s Harley Davidson

44 Patrik Defeated
The second biker from the cafe the other day. Patrik. His bike is a green Harley Davidson from the 1940s. It had a lot of interesting details, one of which you can see here, a skull.

Royal Crowns

Royal Crowns RC
Two cool bikes were parked outside my favorite cafe on Saturday, so I had to grab a few shots. The initials on the gas tank, RC, stands for Royal Crowns. That is the name of the American football team in the neighboring municipality of Tyresö. The biker's son plays in the team. Next season starts one month from now. I have never seen a game, but maybe I should go to their next game.

Lettuce & Mineral Water

Lettuce & Mineral Water
Ingemar was relaxing on the lawn near the shopping center in Västerhaninge. He was out shopping with his ex-wife. They had stopped for gas in Jordbro earlier, and when she was about to pay for some items at a store in VH she realized that she must have left the card at the gas station. So while she went back to try and find the card Ingemar decided to work on his tan. He told me that it was a good thing that he had bought lettuce, (isbergssallat), and not bacon, as he was using the sallad as a pillow, funny guy!
