Mystery Tombstone

Mystery Tombstone
Vesterin 1824-1927. The most known Westerin (spelled with a W), was the teacher and sexton Gustav Adolf. He died in 1927, but he was born in 1862. He was adopted by the tailor Samuel August Westerin. The records show that his step-sister Ragnhild Svea Forsell should be buried here. She died in 1953. The last Taphophile Tragic.

What a mystery. I have always found that dates from the early 1800s are not really to be trusted. At lot of people had no idea when they were born.

Beautiful stone.

I run a weekly cemetery link up on Sundays.

It is a bit of a mystery Steffe, there does seem to be a bit of confusion with the dates, I agree with Halcyon though it is an unusual and appealing stone.

Intriguing. There's a novel in here somewhere.

So this chap lived to 103? Possible but not likely. I think there is a tale still to be told here.

No such person ever existed, so that is why this is a bit of a mystery.

Hmm...no such person? Interesting.

Also interesting is how the left side of the stone is so worn down, enough to make the W look like a V.

What is the meaning of the SV.PS.212?

Hello Gene, that reference is probably to a religious hymn. I have a friend who is a good amateur historian, and I'm hoping that he will be able to solve this mystery.
