A Very Swedish Subculture
The Raggare subculture was born in Sweden back in 1950s and is probably stronger than ever before today. This is my last post from the big meet that took place in Handen last weekend. To get a good look at what the term raggare means have a look at the slideshow. I have uploaded 120 or so photos and that should tell you a bit about this way of life.

Absolutely stunning. I don't think I've seen that much American muscle over here, and I live in a place where old cars are common! I swear I could smell the tires burning in those burnout photos. The Confederate flag is a puzzle to me though. Very, very cool, man!
Fantastic! Some great images in that slide show!
what a great post! I love the cars from the 50's they were oh so cool
wish I was around to see them in person but the vintage ones are oh so sweet!!
I loved the purple one... Fascinating. As my grandmother used to say, 'It takes all sorts to make a world'. It certainly makes it a very colourful one, especially in Sweden where people are often very conservative in their dress.
Looks like a fun event. Thanks for taking us along. Kind of reminds me of "Hot August Nights" in Reno, Nevada.
my internet is too slow (and my laptop even slower)... :(
but i do see the first pic. interesting.....
Good shots, but one of these guys has a problem with is pants.
Greetings,
Filip
