The Rose
Leaving Malmen's cafe the other day I stopped for a chat with my friend Jim who was on his way to the cafe. We spotted the red rose and talked a bit about how to best shoot it. It was getting dark so I decided to give The Nifty Fifty a go and this was the result.

A very nice floribunda it is too .... but in November? Where is the frost; the harsh cold?
Great picture, no doubt about it.
We have a had one or two cold nights but as I'm typing this it is around 7C and that was the temperature all night.
It's a beauty, and I believe your photo does it justice!
definitely two thumbs up from me.
Love the narrow depth of field, people don't seem to use that so. Uh anymore.
Beautiful!
Success!
Nice work Steffe, love the way the new lens blurs the background. I've got roses on my mind too tomorrow! Have a great Sunday.
The shallow depth of field is perfect for this shot.
All of our flowers, bushes, shrubs and trees are in a dormant state waiting on winter.
Wonderful result, too. I love roses and find it difficult to photograph red ones successfully.
