There's a hard working spider on the porch here at Bergdalen. It is doing it's best to keep the veranda free from flies and other insects.

I agree with Kate Steffe,very different, although I think I can see a tiny smile on that arachnids face, maybe not!! Great macro shot.

My reaction is the same as Kate's. But I suspect you did not get permission and interview the subject for this portrait.
Well, did you ask him for any background information? Where he goes to school? What he likes to do?
I'm sure he could eat a few mosquitoes if you offered him some.
I'm glad to be able to surprise you a bit Kate.
I can tell you that it is a very lazy spider. I noticed him yesterday afternoon when he was enjoying a tasty insect. This morning he was still there so I grabbed a few photos with the point&shoot. And this evening when I came home from the big car meet in Handen it was still there.

Either you've got a very good macro function on your point and shoot or that's one seriously big spider. I'm praying for the former.
This was shot with a PowerShot A495. I tried a few shots with my Canon 550 but I deleted those...
