The Very Tough Girls
I stopped at the tiny beach at Upper Lake Rudan the other day to enjoy a very light lunch. There was a few people about, and these two very tough girls (their description), had just gone for a swim in the lake and probably wanted to dry up as it was kinda cold in the water, but very warm in the sun, around 25 Celsius. But when I asked them if they could jump back into the lake so that I could get a few summer like photos they quickly agreed. Although they said it felt like -5C! The girls are from Handen, and are students at the Söderbymalmsskolan. They had a half day off from school and what better way to enjoy that then heading for the beach. The rock behind the tough girls is called the Elephant Rock. It's very popular with rock climbers. The last time I took a photo here was back in November when I shot the multitasking angler.

No kidding, and they seem so comfortable!
These very tough girls know how to have a very good time.
Eek. That is way too cold for swimming. Very tough girls, indeed!
Hello from Toronto! Hubby dear decided to sleep early to I get to use his computer tonight. :)
Tougher than me, the days have to be well into the 100s before I get into the pool!
Girls are always tougher, the sea temp in Sydney is an unusually warm 23 degrees today, warmer in than out.
They are VERY TOUGH, brrrrr ;-)
Way too cold for me. They have to be tough.
Those are great shots and a great little story. I've been to Sweden once, to a town called Stromstad. It was right over the border from Norway. I only spent a day there, but I had the best time and the peeps were so friendly. I'm looking forward to following your blog!
They don't look so tough, but they're tougher than I am...I wouldn't go swimming in that cold water!
They're really cute, though!
The water does look cold. They look to be having a good time tho.
These cold-resistant nymphs have found a very pretty place to go swimming
Thanks all. I'm sure the girls have read this by now. It's a good thing they did go swimming there when they did, as the temperature suddenly has dropped 10 degrees Celsius now.
The place is lovely and very inviting for a swim but I'm more than sure I would given up the second I put my toes in the water! LOL! Brave girls! :-)
As it happened a woman arrived to the beach as I was eating my lunch. She stood in the water for a few seconds telling anyone who wanted to hear that it was much too cold to swim. So I said, no it isn't, just ask these tough girls. But she wasn't convinced!
så härligt det ser ut, om än lite kyligt.
