The Pipe Smoker
You don't see many pipe smokers these days, so when I saw Lars G in Handen yesterday I knew I had to ask him for a portrait. Lars G is retired today but he has a long career as a healthcare consultant. He travelled the world selling the Swedish concept of healthcare. Lars G owned a sailboat for some 35 years. He used to sail the Baltic sea often visiting ports in Finland and Poland. Unfortunately that hobby came to an abrupt end when his son managed to crash with the boat, that is now history.

Lars G looks an interesting character.
His jacket reminds me of the confederates...he would blend in really well in US
The wonderful stories you hear when you meet no strangers.
He strikes a striking pose!
Excellent portrait Steffe. Beautiful.
It's funny he doesn't practice what he preaches! If he was a healthcare consultant, why is he smoking? Well, my friend's wife is a dietician and she's overweight...
A stately looking fellow, and one more interesting character in your collection.
I'm longing for the sunglasses to come off so I can see his eyes.
A handsome gentleman!
What a cool guy!
I always find it interesting when people in the healthcare industry smoke. :)
He looks like an interesting chap.
I almost never see anyone smoking a pipe these days.
Sorry about the boat. And you're right about pipe smokers; we're a vanishing breed! Super portrait!
And a handsome potrait it is! I happen to know many pipe smokers...
Nice portrait of the man. I'm sure not having the boat any longer rankles the old guy, but what can you do. An accident is an accident.
It's ironic that he's a smoker and was a healthcare consultant!
You often see nurses standing outside hospitals smoking and I find that to be a bit weird. I quit smoking many years ago and it was a a very good decision. I'm sure Lars G could have told me many good stories about his job and his sailing trips. Might happen next time I see him.
Pipe, hat and walking stick - obviously quite a character

Nice portrait of a vanishing type. I still have my pipes, I used to smoke many years ago, but rarely see someone around with a pipe now.
