The infamous Swedish Olympic hat!

The infamous Swedish Olympic hat!

During the recent Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver the Swedish Olympic crochet hat (designed by Eva Christensson),became incredibly popular. In Sweden the wool yarn needed to make it sold out in a few days, so my mothers attempt to make one for me failed. In case you would like to make your own I have a description here. Yesterday I spotted this guy wearing the hat so I stopped to ask where he got it from. This is Emil Fors from Haninge. His mother and his girlfriend bought the cap at the Stockholm International Fairs a while back. And it only costed them 150 SEK. So I'm a bit envious as I haven't been able to get one yet.

I wouldn't mind one too! It is actually quite a nice one. We call them "beanies" around here!

Looks like a friendly chap. Wonder what he looks like without the hat. Spring is coming, Steffe ... you won't need the hat pretty soon - wait 'til summer, buy one then on sale and you'll be all set for next winter when the snow flies, and flies and flies and flies!

Ha, virkningen får morsan stå för, hon hade inte rätt virknål hemma och inte rätt garn så vi vår väl vänta och se.

Hopefully Jacob is right and I won't be needing a beanie for the next few months.

Sorry to hear about the weather Mr. Poet.
