Lets Go Shopping
I was taking some photos at the Västerhaninge shopping centre the other day when two people came up and wanted to know if I was from the local paper. Before I had time to say no, they started complaining about the snow and ice situation here, and I can't blame them. Anyway, if you can't make your way into the shops and spend all your hard earned money, you could just stand there and admire the sculpture. It's called The Jester Group. The sculptor is Bror Marklund, and if you have been reading this blog lately you will be familiar with some of his work. Unfortunately the sculpture has been vandalized a bit. I'm not sure who is responsible for the art here, it's either the shopping centre, or the municipality.

That is a wonderful picture. It really tells a story. I can't get over the amount of snow you had this year.
I really like the picture too. I hope the snow goes away soon.
I like this image very much. My favourite type of images, actually. Real life - mix of people, nature, art, shopping :-)), a sunny day in Sweden. As for the snow, I hardly can imagine where will it go when starts melting, a lot of water to make photos of...
I like seeing the shopping center, Steffe. It resembles centers in towns all over the U.S.
Lustigt, jag minns inte riktigt den där. Och djuraffären - eller vad det är - är väl ny?
Can you buy a current issue of "Svensk Damtidning" there? Cool sculpture!
God helg
Butikerna kommer och går här med en faslig fart. Kanske var det järnaffär här när du fortfarande bodde här.
Ha ha, I wouldn't read that magazine if you paid me for it Leif!
Thanks Irina.That's a good observation.
It's a small one brattcat. But there's a few restaurants, a barber and a hair dresser, a pub, pharmacy, a cafe, fast food place, shoe shop, flower shop, grocery store and a optician. And a few banks that has been robbed a few times!
Fortunately, the sun is melting our snow and it should be gone by tomorrow. It looks like you have a long way to go.
Nice place, a lot of snow. I think I'll be comfortable there, cold apart.
In fairness to the people responsible I should say that the huge piles of snow have been removed now.
Where did they take the snow to? Are they dumping it in a river or something? And I am happy to see that strip-malls are no different in Sweden than in Western NY (I romanticize that things in Sweden are better than here).
