Summer vs. Autumn

Lake Reflection

As you probably know I do enjoy going back to a few of my favourite places for another photo. This is a diptych made of two photos from Lower Lake Rudan in Handen. Taken from the same spot, a rocky area popular with fishers. The left half of the diptych shows part of a summer photo from August 2008. And to the right how the lake looked this autumn.

Warm colors, cool colors. I often go back to favorite spots but never thought of putting them side by side. I will have to try it sometine.

That's nice, Steffe. Both of them. But autumn does carry with it the whiff of an approaching winter.

I like this Steffe. Neither shot is better than the other, they're both beautiful. It looks like a nice place no matter when you go.

I prefer the autumn view. I love those rusty reds.

It's a fun hobby mixing these types of photos together, especially if the weather is forcing me to stay indoors!

Very nicely done, both are beautiful.

Love it!

Do you just crop the two photos and line them up or is it done with software?

The first trick is to remember where you stood the first time! Which I am pretty good at. Then it's just to line them up as you say marley. No extra software for that, but I guess you could do it that way for a seamless version, that would be kinda cool.
