Earlier in the year a birch tree fell during a storm and nearly hit my bedroom window. Today the arborists were back to cut down two trees that were more dead then alive. This guy climbed up the tree and cut off the top and then they lifted it down using this big crane.

Those guys are impressive. I had them provide some tree assistance last fall. You start with a fairly big tree, some climbing, a couple of ropes, some other equipment, a chain saw. Less than an hour later the tree has been chopped into pieces left in a small pile. End of story, invoice comes within a week. Real pro's.
Last time they were here was during the storm, on a Saturday night! Much better conditions this time around. They did have a few impressed kids follow their every move. And me of course...
