Outside my window

Turning Gray

Just outside my window. The window was open so I just raised the camera and took a few snaps. The squirrel noticed me and took off, just like that. As winter is closing in the squirrels are slowly turning gray.

That's interesting, I didn't know squirrels turn colour in winter...perhaps that's what you get from an ignorant city-dweller!

How long can you tolerate the winter chill if you open the windows in your home without switching on the central heating system?

The squirrel looks like a cousin to those who are here in southwestern Ohio where I live. We have gray squirrels and they are putting on their winter coats and behind each ear is now growing a tuft of snow white hair that helps to protect their ears from the soon to come freezing temperatures. Nice photograph.

As I'm typing this it's 12C from a sky that is slowly turning blue. Hopefully I can have the windows open every now and then for a few weeks yet. And here's a photo of the house, we use a Panasonic Deluxe Inverter.
