A snake in the grass
I was out walking in a forest at the nature reserve Gullringskärret when I stumbled upon this snake. It watched me for a while and when I stepped closer for a for a better look it decided to crawl away. I'm no snake expert so I can only guess that this is a Grass Snake (Natrix natrix). If not, it could be a black Viper (Hognose).

I know nothing about snakes but aren't grass snakes green? I wouldn't like to come across one of these...

I am definitely not a snake fan! Are they venemous?
Such a pretty snake. Thanks for the photo.
The Viper is venemous. Every year around 200 people seek medical help after being bitten. The Natrix natrix has no poison.
Already awaked?
I think I'd be slowly stepping back Stefan!
It looks to be very plump and well-fed. lili
Hi. It's a viper. But it's nice :)
