Heading home

Cycling home from Stockholm one day last week, I took a shortcut, and stopped by the beach at Hökarängsbadet. It was just me and a flock of birds down by the water at Lake Drevviken as I took the photo with the moon over Sköndal. One hour later I was at Nederstaleden where a bike path follows the railroad between Västerhaninge and Krigslida. I took the third photo at another bike path, this one at Stav. The red house at Mulsta often looks nice in the dark. I took the last photo where that bike path ends, at Lillgården with the new row houses and the Jensen school.

Not just a sunflower field

Thousands of sunflowers blooming on a field near Berga. Nothing special about that, but there's a note by the side of the field. It's from the students at the Berga agricultural college informing us that they planted the flowers for all the bees and insects, and if you want a flower go ahead and pick one, but they would appreciate if you donated 10SEK for every flower to the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation.

A Few Candid Portraits

If you read this blog regularly, you know that I shoot many street portraits with an added interview. But I also enjoy capturing everyday people out and about. That is, shooting photos without asking the subject, but always at a public space. Something I enjoy whenever I am visiting an event. So here are a few recent examples. All from the open-house weekend at Berga earlier this summer.

Welcome to Ormsta

Welcome to Ormsta. A rural area in Haninge. With three old farms, Östragården, Mellangården och Skattegården. On a hot spring day I took a bike ride through this agricultural landscape on the old Husby Road (dates back to Viking times). The farmer here since 1984 is Rolf Norlin. He also runs Hammarby Gård at Åva (close to Tyresta National Park) and Kalvsvik in Österhaninge.

It only took 25 years...

Todays photo really should have been taken 25 years ago. That is for how long the construction of this road has been delayed. Many people have lost their life's on the dangerous Road 73 over the last decades. Now finally they are preparing for the new road between Fors in Västerhaninge and down to the port town of Nynäshamn. This photo is part of a zooming sequence and the other photos can be seen in my Zooming in set.

From another visit to the Nature Park Slätmossen in Handen. Some mallards with a nice backdrop. One of my best shots if I may say so.
