A ninety-meter mural

Photos from a ninety-meter-long mural at Fridhemsplan along Drottningholmsvägen that was painted earlier this month. It is called ”Från 60-talet till nu, fri att vara du”. From the 1960s until now, free to be yourself. Made by the street artists Linn Hammarsten and Pernilla (Pernie) Lindgren. A collaboration between the owner of the property, Alecta Fastigheter, and Graffitisthlm, during the ongoing renovation of the building behind the fence. The area used to have a big cultural and musical scene with a famous record company, cinema and more. Both ABBA in the Polar studio, and Max Martin in the Cherion studio, worked in the neighborhood. And in the near future, several new cultural projects will open here, including a hotel where every room will have a sound system and the possibility to plug in an electric guitar! They will also have DJs and their own radio channel. I will most likely go back a few times to see how things progress. Oh, and the woman on the bench were waiting for the bus, and the guy in the fancy car drove around the block.

It looks always better if something human gives a scale to the total and wonderful done in this case. That jaguar is also a great bonus to the eye.

An excellent, colorful mural. It is so big that it is hard to digest at one time.
