I See You
From a distance I noticed a moose family, so I jumped off my bike and tried to walk a little closer without scaring away the wildlife, as they were enjoying some grass on a field. They obviously knew that I was coming so when I came around the bend they were already at a safe distance at the edge of the forest.

The archipelago
My third visit to the Lookout Point at Häringe in the last three months. It was another warm Autumn day last week, around 13C. I rode my bike to the nature reserve. Arriving it was all very quiet. I met two guys from the Skärgårdsstiftelsen doing forest maintenance at Häringenäs. And after parking my bike at the path leading up to the hill I met a guy on a mountainbike who told me that it was a bit windy up at the top. Which it was. But the view was as always great. As I took the top photo I got a flashback. Here is the story: Back when I was a kid, we are talking mid-1970s, we had this painter nick-named Gidde who lived a really rough life, with alcohol, homelessness, and what have you. He used to visit our place and my grandfather always fed him, gave him a bed for the night, while my grandmother cleaned his clothes. As a thank you, he sometimes gave them one of his paintings. The painting often looked like this view, and was always called something like Sunset over Nynäshamn. So I'm pretty sure he used to visit here and paint this view and I can't really blame him for that as it is a nice view. On the second photo you can see the two Super-post Panamax cranes at the Norvik harbor in Nynäshamn. To the right the new apartment building Fyren currently under construction.

Pause for a moment
While at the lakes earlier in the week I noticed something that made me smile. A number of benches along the path around the lower lake had positive quotes written on them. I'm guessing it was done by the municipality. It is now your job to try and translate them. The message on the first photo is Pause for a moment. Hint, try mouse-over the photos

Meditating
On a recent visit to the Rudan nature reserve I spotted this man sitting on a jetty meditating at the Lower Lake. Normally I would have joined him there to take my standard photo of the lake but I didnt want to disturb him so I continued on to the next jetty where I shot this photo.

Lensball Mania Part I
Three lensball photos. The old tree was my first try with this new toy. Decided to shoot with my Canon 77D and the 60mm macro lens. Second photo is graffiti at an underpass near the Vattenfall power plant in Jordbro. I took the last photo at Lillsjön, a little lake that I have shown you a few times before.

Is it Christmas yet?
Here is the after photo, and the answer to the question would be a yes, at least if you ask Tette Lindbergh and her family at Stav in Tungelsta. They have been doing this for a few years now. There are no street lights on this road so when it gets dark it gets really dark. The next two neighbors are also in on the fun, and I read a recent Facebook post where some of the locals have a competition going, the winner gets a few bottles of the good stuff apparently.

The before photo
I noticed a Facebook post in the Tungelsta group earlier this week. From Tette. She lives in the gray house. She promptly informed anyone who wanted to know that she would turn on the Christmas lights today. So I decided to take a before photo.

Three Office Windows
Three big office windows from the same office building in Handen. The building is called Najaden, it sits next to the commuter station. It was redesigned a few years ago, I like the different windows and try to shoot them every now and then.

Kulturhuset
There are a lot of Corona19 restrictions at the Cultural Center in Handen these days. There's a limit as to how many people can visit the library at the same time, you used to be able to sit and work here but not any longer. All concerts canceled as well as pretty much everything so you might as well stay at home.

Haninge Coat of Arms
The Capercaillie and the Anchor can be seen on the official Haninge Coat of Arms. Symbolizing the forest,(we have a lot of that), and the sea,(we have a big archipelago). One of these symbols can also be seen on a few Viking Era runestones around Haninge. This updated and inclusive version can be seen at a playground at Eskilsparken in Handen. Most likely made by local school kids from a nearby school earlier this year.

Written in stone
This is a Viking Era runestone at Stav. The inscription reads Auda raeisti staein at Harald, boanda sinn, ok Fastlaug at fadur sinn. In English Oda raised this stone in memory of Harald her husband, and Fastlög to her father. The stone was discovered by farm workers back in 1885. Today it stands on the old gravel road at the Stav village in Tungelsta. I took the photo on my way home a couple of days ago.

Berga Skola
Berga school. Not used as a school today, the building sits on the property belonging to the agricultural college. Back in the 1970s, I used to visit here with my parents as my dad's best friend lived in an apartment here.

Autumn Trek
I asked one of the usual suspects if he wanted to join me on a trek up to the top of the Häringe hill last week. We have been talking about that since I walked up there earlier in the year. Then on the day of the trek, he texted me saying he suffered from a bad case of man-flu so it was just me cycling down to the Häringe-Hammersta nature reserve and walking up the hill at Häringenäs for a look at the view once again. It was a fantastic Autumn day. I only saw one or two other people in the nature reserve and up at the top, it was just me. The silence was deafening. The view covers the forests around Häringe as well as the archipelao in both Haninge and Nynäshamn.

November Mood
November. Not my favorite month of the year. It is not even in the top ten list. Cycling home I took this photo of the Tungelsta commuter station. The tree with the lights, behind the glass house makes the scene a bit more interesting in the dark, and we need all the help we can get this time of the year!

Moomin®
The liquorice maker Haupt Lakrits in Jordbro opened a store in their factory a couple of weeks ago. It's only open for a few hours every Friday. I informed one of the usual suspects, Jujja, about that and he was first in line when they opened for business. He was back there the following Friday and showed up at my place a little later with a couple of tasty gifts. That was kind of him I think.
