A face on the wall

The legal graffiti wall Farstaväggen. I bike past it every week. Usually something to see and photograph there. I recognized the style here, so I have most likely photographed a work made by this graffer before.

This unknown street artist often paints famous women. Sometimes I can identify them. And sometimes not. Like here. Found at Farstaväggen a while back.

Feeling Violated

Biking into the city I spotted two guys painting at the legal wall Farstaväggen, so a few hours later on my way home I stopped for a closer look. After uploading the photo to Flickr my Dutch contact Steef informed me that this was a character from a show called Dexter's Lab, and that this is Doug McPherson. Yet to see that programme.

Frankenstein's monster

Arriving a bit late to the graffiti wall this time as some moron had gone over it, spraying it with yellow paint to mess up the more talented artists work. So I just lifted the camera and snapped away without thinking. And I did have a go at cleaning up the photos. But gave up on this one.

Oscar Wilde

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. Still don't know who this street artist is. But I like his or her work. Seen it at a few different places around Stockholm the last few years. Found this one at Farstaväggen.

I bike past this legal graffiti wall every time I ride to and from Stockholm, well almost every time, there are other options, but this is the main bike path that I use. It is just a few hundred meters after the beach at Hökarängsbadet where I often stop for photos, year round. And if I see something I like here I always stop for a photo.

Hilma Franzon

Cycling into Stockholm, passing the legal graffiti wall at Farsta I noticed four people spraying and painting. One of them the well known artist Hilma Franzon, whose work you have seen here a few times already. She was working on one of her famous goats, so I made a mental note to take the same way home a few hours later, and that's when I took these two photos. Well, as per usual it is a few more as the second shot is a big panorama from 12 photos.

Cycling to Stockholm on Saturday I passed by the legal graffiti wall Farstaväggen, where I found another mural made by the artist Hilma Franzon. Chances are that it is already gone.

Cycling past the Farsta graffiti wall a few days ago I could see an artist working on what looked like a wild animal, so I made a mental note to remember to stop for a closer look and a photo the next time I was in the area. And two days later I did just that.

International Women's Day

A day late I know, but this graffiti work at the legal graffiti wall in Farsta did not appear until yesterday and when I took this photo I had already published yesterday's post. But better late than ever, I guess. The work is signed with an anonymous A, I can't remember seeing that signature here before.

Another graffiti painting by Norrlands Guld at Farstaväggen. Whenever I cycle to Stockholm I pass by this legal graffiti wall, and as I snapped this photo three people were busy painting on the other side of the wall.

Five recent graffiti paintings from the legal wall Farstaväggen. It is next to a popular soccer pitch and equally close to my bike path. I don't shoot everything I see here because that would mean taking photos here once, or even twice, a day. But if and when I see something I like, I will usually stop for a photo or two.

Temporary Art

Usually, the artworks at the legal graffiti wall Farstaväggen will be painted over in a matter of hours. This one survived for at least five days. I blame the Winter weather for that.

Two recent pieces seen at the legal graffiti wall, Farstaväggen. You can paint on both sides. I bike past here a few times every week, so when I see anything new and interesting, I stop for a few photos. These two were signed Gorilla Dyre and Ikaross Block.

It was one of those days when I had to jump off the bike and take a photo of the temporary street art at the legal graffiti wall at Farsta.

The Graffiti Bar

Opening soon. Graffiti Kök & Bar at Tanto on Södermalm in Stockholm. Managed by Astrid Hultberg and Gabrielle Söderberg. Designed by the graffiti artist Brain, real name Lee Spångberg, (and a few of his mates), who were spraying around the corner when I snapped these photos a couple of days ago. There is a legal graffiti wall nearby, and previous owners of this café had a lot of problems with graffiti, so the new owners solved that by inviting the graffers to decorate the bar. The third photo might look like just another face, but it isnt. It's made by the street artist Martin Monet. And it depicts The Årsta Lady, who kept a diary between 1793 and 1839. If you understand the local lingo you can read some of what she wrote in the book Årstadagboken. She was friends with Bellman btw. Oh, and the face in the second photo is of Avicii. And yes, that is my ebike in the photo.

I had to stop at the Farsta graffiti wall a while back when I noticed these paintings. If I had to guess, I would say that the artists behind these five artworks are a few years younger than the people that normally paints here.
