Care facility

Malmgården
My mother's health is deteriorating. She's been hospitalised for ten days now and everyone agrees that she will not be able to return home. Instead she will move in here at the Malmgården care facility at the seaside resort Dalarö in Haninge. My brother and I visited last week and it looked fine. She will be moved there as early as tomorrow so we will be busy fixing her new apartment.

So sorry to hear that Steffe but I'm sure they will look after your mum very well, is it very far for yourself and brother to visit your most days?

Having had been there with my late mother, it's a hard thing to watch a parent fading away.

Sorry to hear that but you look to have found a lovely facility where i am sure she will be comfortable.

We were hoping for a few places closer to home. There's one facility just across the road but they had no rooms available. To get to Dalarö we have to take two different buses, or first the commuter and then a bus. She moved in this morning. My brother and I were there to greet her, just need to fix her apartment now, Will have to buy furniture, radio, maybe a TV and a few other things. She was a bit upset when she arrived, probably in pain as well as her hip problems haven't been fixed yet but they can control that with painkillers for the time being.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. It looks like a good place. I went through that with my father and it is hard.

I hope it works well for her. Sometimes elderly people feel uprooted and lonely when they have to leave their own home.

I hope it is a smooth transition for her.

Sorry to learn of your mother's decline. I hope she comes to like this facility. She undoubtedly will appreciate the efforts that your brother and you are making to make her comfortable. Good luck.
